Health care at Bolton Royal Hospital from a different age

This photo was taken in the operating theater at Bolton In 1928, at the Royal Roman Hospital, where health care was a minimalist technology.

Even the patient’s bed looked like a simple metal cart with a few shocking bottles and jars scattered throughout the room.

During World War I, doctors had to deal with injuries on the battlefield, and after surgery many of the procedures returned to normal medicine.
