Heartthrob singer Ann Wilson is done with chemotherapy and ready to hit the road again in 2025, she announced Tuesday, marking the end of her treatment for an unspecified cancer.
She launched her Instagram video with a cheery, “Hey everyone!” and said she knew people had been worried after the group canceled the UK leg of their Royal Flush tour in May.
The group, known for hits like “Barracuda” and “Magic Man,” had revealed Wilson’s cancer diagnosis and surgery in July. Wilson said while her doctor had ordered her to refrain from touring until the end of this year, she vowed to be back. On Wednesday, she began to keep that promise.
“Now I know a lot of you have been wondering how I’ve been doing. So I thought it would be best if you heard this directly from me,” said Wilson, 74. “I’m perfectly fine now but it’s been a lot to say the least . Chemo is no joke. It takes a lot out of a person. And then two weeks of waiting for test results, a form of mental torture.”
She said she empathized “big time” with others who traveled that road.
“Fortunately, for me, when the results finally came, they were the good kind!” she said of the follow-up tests. “And so I’m happy to share that I’m now done with chemo and officially ready to get ready for the 2025 tour!”
Just two days earlier, the band had quietly added more shows to the 2025 itinerary, including a second night in Las Vegas and new shows in Toronto, Mashantucket, Conn. and Boston.
“We are so, so excited to resume this tour“, Wilson’s sister and bandmate Nancy Wilson said in a separate statement obtained by People. “We had just started firing on all cylinders, and the vibe was absolutely HUGE. To be continued…”
