Hezbollah announced a “new and escalating phase” in its war with Israel on Thursday – hours after the Israeli military confirmed its forces killed Hamas leader.
The terror group claimed it had used precision-guided missiles against Israeli troops for the first time since the Jewish state launched a ground invasion of Lebanon last month with the aim of rooting out Hezbollah militants.
In a statement, the Iran-backed terrorist organization said its plan “will be reflected in the developments and events of the coming days” as hundreds of soldiers are prepared to “counter any Israeli ground incursions into southern Lebanese villages.”
Hezbollah noted that attacks on Israel have increased in recent days, adding that they have killed 55 Israeli soldiers and wounded 500 since the war broke out on September 23.
The statement made no mention of the death of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar – a Hezbollah ally.
