Hot and dry end of the work week

AUSTIN (KXAN) – Morning clouds were slow to blend this afternoon, but the skies remained dry below them. Later in the day, mostly sunny skies will prevail, with high temperatures close to our seasonal average of 92 degrees.

The second half of the week will feature a high-level warming and drying trend bouncing into the mid-90s and highs, with ample sunshine through Saturday.

Humidity returns late over the weekend, allowing a couple of widely dispersed downpours on Sunday, especially for areas east of I-35. As we close the summer of 2021, the possibility of low precipitation will continue early next week.

FIRST WARNING: some prediction models point to our first clue real The taste of autumn with the cold front coming next week. If the border goes south enough, we could see temperatures drop to the 50s/60s at night and to the 70s/80s in the afternoon. Stay tuned for details as we get closer.
