Scottie Scheffler’s dominance over golf has not been felt since the prime of Tiger Woods.
He begins serving as Woods as well.
Scheffler won the season-ending Tour Championship on Sundaywhich secured him the FedEx Cup title.
It marked the seventh tournament won by Scheffler on the PGA Tour in 2024 – the most since Woods won seven in 2007.
Scheffler earned approximately $29.2 million during the season, according to ESPNabout 9.2 percent of the total purse of $317.4 million from tournaments he played.
In 2007, Woods earned roughly $10.9 million — about 9.7 percent of the $112.5 million available in prize money.
Scheffler, 28, also received a pair of huge bonuses — $25 million for winning the FedEx Cup and $8 million for leading the Comcast Business Tour Top 10, giving him $62.2 million in total earnings this year — excluding endorsements or other income.
And that number will soon grow as the PGA pays out its Player Impact Program bonuses.
“If you can put it into words, more power to you,” Scheffler said on Sunday of his year. “Because I don’t think I can. All I try to do is hit a good shot. This year I have been able to do that a lot.”
Scheffler’s contemporaries aren’t even close.
Including both prize money and bonuses, Xander Schauffele has earned the second most at $29.3 million, according to Sportico.
Collin Morikawa is third on $25.3 million, while Rory McIlroy is fourth on $19.2 million.
Scheffler’s historic season also made headlines off the court.
