The U.S. cycling team has a chance to make history Wednesday as it tries to win its first-ever gold medal in the women’s team pursuit.
The United States has medaled every time the event has competed in the Olympics, but they have never reached the top step of the medal podium, winning silver medals in 2012 and 2016 and a bronze medal in 2020.
Great Britain has won gold twice in the competition and Germany took the title in Tokyo, but there will be a new champion this time when the US squad take on New Zealand in the final.
Here’s how to watch the final:
The team pursuit final is set to take place at 12:28pm CT. The matchup will air on E!, and you can also watch it in the player below.
Who is competing:
The American team will take on New Zealand after narrowly edging out Great Britain in the qualifying heats. The U.S. won by just under three-tenths of a second, with Indiana’s Chloe Dygert and her teammates taking that heat.
Kristen Faulkner, Lily Williams and Jennifer Valente will all compete for the gold alongside Dygert on Wednesday afternoon in Paris.
