The fight no longer fascinates Khabib Nurmagomedov. The former UFC lightweight champion has said that he has moved on from the fight game and will not come out of retirement to further popularize his promotion, the Eagle Fighting Championship (EFC).
Speaking to reporters at the recently concluded EFC 36, Khabib Nurmagomedov was asked about his chances of competing in a potential grappling match. Dagestani replied:
“Not interested at all. Why do I need to catch someone? I’m tired, as they say, dive for sweaty feet. We struggle in training. Shamil knows it, Khasabulaev knows. But to fight in a field to prove .. When asked by a reporter if he would be willing to compete in a grappling match to increase the popularity of the EFC, Khabib Nurmagomedov said the idea sounded tempting but that he would still prefer to be on the sidelines.
Khabib Nurmagomedov said, “Can but I’m not interested. I guess I might invite a good wrestler instead.”
