Karachi: The Cricket Control Board of India (BCCI) has begun considering the UAE as the second choice to host the T20 World Cup later this year.
After the COVID-19 situation deteriorated in India, an official at the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry said The BBC’s Stumped Podcast said they will move to the UAE if the situation in India does not improve.
“I have just been appointed one of the tournament directors, so I do everything I can to make sure that happens,” said Dheeraj Malhotra – General Manager, Game Development at BCCI.
“It will be the Emirates. We hope once again that it will be done by the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Therefore, we will take the championship there, but the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry will still do it.”
