Raised in the self-described trailer parks of Texas and now living in the city of Los Angeles, Ryster is a Mexican-American artist who started SoundCloud in 2019. It was clear from the outset that he didn’t fit into a certain place of music. As he combines hip-hop, rap, alternative, pop and many more genres with the honesty of his songs, his skill creates something magnetic inside his songs.
In Spotify alone, Ryster has collected 12.8 million streams and his musical influences include Post Malone, Lil Uzi Vert, Travis Scott and Juice WRLD.
At just 19, the genre-bent artist has just dropped his new track and visualizer “Bad Girls Club” through Future Mogul’s Entertainment. Written by Ryster and Relic, the Relic-produced track features a contagious, melodic melody where Ryster’s transparent, weak lyrics come to the fore. We sat down with Reister to learn more about his inspiration and where his career is heading.
PPLA: What is your background and how did you get into music?
Trembling: I grew up in a small town near the Mexican border called Presidio, TX. I raised my mother Rockio and my father Oscar there for almost 16 years of my life, so I called home that it is a very unique place to grow. Everybody has something friendly with each other. If it does any hahaha I got up in the summer when my friend Emanuel got into a really mess with the recording in the garage band on my iPhone while going to my Softmore year in the summer.
PPLA: When did you know you wanted to make it your career?
Trembling: I knew I wanted to make it my career when I hit the point where I had nothing else on my mind but to record music. Instead of going out with friends, I just stay there and record, not feeling anything different like me while composing the song. I started to get better and people on the internet just showed a positive response. I think this is the first time in a long time that I really felt like I was myself.
PPLA: Who are your influences? Music Legends That Inspire You Or Counselors / Family Counselors?
Trembling: Really my main influences are the people around me. I got my parents, Miles, Geo and all my friends back home. I really need haha. Other than that though I would say people like Haley Williams, Bruno Mars, The Weekend, Trevor Daniel and Michael Jackson influenced my words in one way or another.
PPLA: Tell us about your release – what was your inspiration behind the song?
Trembling: The inspiration behind my latest release “Bad Girls Club” came when my friends and I were having a conversation about the kind of women we were in and one of my friends came up with the topic of girls who are amazingly beautiful but still have bad characters. They can never be satisfied with what they give because they know that if they don’t want to get anything from someone they will just go ahead and go to someone.
PPLA: Where do you find inspiration – any place or people in the city, a place to eat, a park or a writing spot?
Trembling: I don’t have a specific place from which I got the inspiration to write, I got inspiration from everything around me .. but why would my all time favorite food place be Rising Forever. 🙂
PPLA: What do you have
Trembling: I don’t know what my next one is, I’m letting everything happen. It’s more enjoyable like this. I definitely want to drop an album soon, I think the whole process would be great because I never tried to give up an album. 🙂
