Xtratime Web Desk The Board of Directors of the Indian Premier League (IPL GC) and the Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) unanimously decided in an emergency meeting to postpone the IPL 2021 season, with immediate effect.

BCCI does not want to compromise the safety of the players, support staff, and other participants involved in organizing the IPL. This decision was made with consideration to the safety, health and well-being of all stakeholders.

These are tough times, especially in India, and while we have tried to offer some positivity and joy, it is imperative that the championship be suspended now and everyone returns to their families and loved ones in these troubled times.

BCCI will do all it can to arrange safe and secure passage for all participants of the IPL 2021.

BCCI would like to thank all the healthcare workers, government associations, players, support staff, franchisees, sponsors, partners and all service providers who have done their best to organize IPL 2021 even in these extremely challenging times.
