A woman holding a banner protesting Israel’s war in Gaza was met with a “We Love Joe” sign during President Joe Bidens speech at the Democratic National Convention, according to video posted on social media.
A man was seen using the 3-foot sign to reach across two lower rows of seats and punch the woman in the head multiple times in a matter of seconds.
Another video showed the woman, who wore a hijab, and other attendees unfurling a banner reading “Stop Arming Israel” during Biden’s speech.
Democratic delegates in front of the banner tried to block it with their “We Love Joe” signs, Dylan Wells, one Washington Post reporter who was at the event held at the United Center in Chicago, wrote on X, earlier Chirp.
Lights illuminating the section of the convention hall were turned off as the protesters were removed, Wells added.
