– We get a lot of strange calls, say the police.
The Cohasset Police Department responded to a report of a squirrel’s head stuck in a tree on Brewster Road on Monday.
Police said Officer Josh Kimball was able to “locate the little guy and try to help, but this squirrel was stuck.” Cohasset Police posted on Facebook. “Really stuck!”
The officers then moved on to “plan B”, and lathered the squirrel with hand sanitizer.
“After a few minutes of gentle twisting, turning and guiding, Officer Kimball was able to free him,” the post said.
The officers then had a “quick shoot” with the squirrel.
“As a sincere thank you, Mr. Squirrel gave Officer Kimball a parting bite of his index finger through the gloves,” police wrote. “No skin broken, but we laughed and got a picture of Officer Kimball screaming in pain.”
