The Patriots quarterback made an outfit change at the start of his press conference on Wednesday.
As Jacoby Brissett settled into his seat at the podium for his press conference on Wednesday, Jerod Mayo walked up to the quarterback with an orange hoodie stretched between both hands for all to see.
“What is it brother?” Mayo said with a laugh. “I forgot something.”
Brissett got up and put on his shirt.
“This is terrible,” the quarterback said.
Brissett had to wear the orange Tennessee Volunteers jersey because he had lost a bet with Mayo and the rookie quarterback Joe Milton.
Mayo and Milton played college football at Tennessee. Brissett played college football at North Carolina State. The two teams met on Saturday, with the Volunteers beating the Wolfpack 51-10.
Offensive lineman David Andrews, a former Georgia Bulldog, felt sympathy for Brissett having to wear the Tennessee colors.
“It’s a tough orange, too. A little more vibrant than Auburn,” Andrews says. “Auburn is a little more subtle, but they’re just as bad, too. But he’ll be fine.”
