Skiing
“A good omen for future snowmen.”
While the Boston forecast calls for summer-like temperatures this week our Vermont neighbors are already seeing signs of winter.
Jay Peak Resort in Jay, Vermont, posted a video on social media Monday shows its first snowflakes, writing: “A good omen for future snowmen. Catch our first snow sightings of the season near the top on Sunday, September 8.”
As promising as the video looks, skiers and riders will have to be patient because the mountain typically doesn’t open for skiing until the Friday after Thanksgiving, a decades-long tradition.
Jay Peak Resort was named best ski resort in Vermont by Boston.com readers earlier this year. Boston.com’s readers are named Jay Peak’s Green Mountain Flyer Quadnicknamed “The Freezer”, the coldest chair lift in the region.
What’s more: Jay Peak was named among them best ski resorts in the usa of Ski the newspaper and one of the most affordable ski areas in North America by HomeToGo.
