Senator John Fetterman appeared on MSNBCpp Katy Tur reports on Monday to share how he believes Vice President Kamala Harris “will win” the battleground state of Pennsylvania as polls show a dead race against the former president Donald Trump.
“Spend anytime in the small district of Pennsylvania, you see a lot of support. And there’s a lot of energy there for Trump. And I want people to understand that. It’s true and it’s there, and if we don’t take It’s a lot seriously, then we do it at our peril,” said Fetterman, a Pennsylvania Democrat. “I think Kamala Harris will prevail on that, but we have to — we can’t forget that Trump has an appeal in Pennsylvania, and we have to make sure we show up everywhere.”
Harris will win Tuesday night’s debate even if Trump has a “strong performance as well,” the senator predicted.
However, Fetterman said that because of “what has happened” in the past, Tuesday’s debate may not change people’s minds. From Trump’s various criminal trials and impeachments as well as the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riot and the former president’s assassination attempt, the senator said he’s “not really convinced that this debate is going to change in a significant way, one way or the other.”
