CHICAGO — Juan Soto’s long list of milestones grew Tuesday night at Guaranteed Rate Field.
The Yankees star crushed three home runs in a game for the first time in his career and put his team to a 4-0 lead through seven innings against the White Sox.
Soto’s first two homers of the night went to the opposite field before he laced the third single to right field in the lefty-on-lefty matchup in the top of the seventh inning.
In one night, Soto came much closer to tying his single-season career high, which had been the 35 homers he hit last year with the Padres.
He has now clubbed 33 in his first season in pinstripes, continuing a monster year before his free-agency showdown this offseason.
When Soto homered in the fifth inning — his second of the night off White Sox righty Jonathan Cannon — it was the 23rd time in his career that he hit two home runs in one game.
Then he added to that feat in the seventh with a long ball off lefty reliever Fraser Ellard.
