“Veep” star Julia Louis-Dreyfus vowed to be “extra involved” in Vice President Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign and even teased a possible appearance at the Democratic National Convention later this month.
Louis-Dreyfus made his comments to The Sunday Times and later cut a video aimed at telling Americans abroad how to cast their votes.
She pondered the advice her alter ego Selina Meyer would give Harris, but warned the VP to take it.
“If Selina had any advice for Kamala, she’d better not take it. I think Kamala is so intelligent she wouldn’t take the call,” joked Louis-Dreyfus.
Louis-Dreyfus’ political satire show “Veep” has roared back into the spotlight after the life-imitates-art moment when President Biden announced he would step down and endorse Harris to replace him.
Some critics have compared Harris to Louis-Dreyfus’ character on the show, who is at once incompetent and evil.
