karachi: A huge fire engulfs the Karachi market, 35 stores went out

KARACHI: A massive fire broke out at Karachi Cooperative Market on Sunday night, cleared at least 35 stores in the area, local media reported.
Efforts to extinguish the fire are currently underway with a firefighter and a team present. More help from all fire stations across the city has been sought, it is reported Geo News.
Pakistani fleets help has also been sought to extinguish the fire.
A spokesman for the Pakistani navy said the aid was provided at the request of the civilian administration.
Law enforcement officials and the Karachi Commissioner Muhammad Iqbal Memon is on site to monitor the fire fighting, says Geo News.
Memon said that the inferno has been declared a “third degree fire” and detailed that there are around 300-400 stores on the market, of which “35 have been completely eliminated”.
So far, the cause of the fire is unknown. Memon said it would be too early to comment on the matter at this time.
