Things have been going well for the New York Mets of late but they will have to navigate the rest of the season without one of their key players. Second baseman/outfielder Jeff McNeil suffered a fractured wrist and will likely be out for the rest of the year.

Mets manager Carlos Mendoza confirmed the injury on Saturday. He spoke to the media regarding the injury to McNeil.

“Not good. MRI this morning showed wrist fracture so he’s probably done for the year.”

McNeil will be out for about four to six weeks so unless New York goes on a long playoff run, his season is done. This is a huge blow to the Mets as McNeil had been a solid contributor for them all season.
