Leeds fans react when Bielsa responds when asked about Robert’s future

Marcelo Bielsa has told Thursday’s press conference that he does not want Tyler Roberts to leave January – and Leeds fans have reacted.

Roberts, 22, has been involved in all 12 Premier League matches so far, but has only started once. Instead, he has come on as a sub in the other 11.

Wales International has been regularly linked with the exit door. On Sunday, he was likely to start against Tottenham – but was overlooked.

In fact, Roberts would have imagined his chances – with Rodrigo and Patrick Bamford missing. But Bielsa gave Joe Gelhardt a first league start.

Considering his Sunday talk, Bielsa was asked if he would sanction a loan deal for Roberts. He responded by saying he would keep him on Elland Road.

“While he has the battle to win a place on the team, I still want him here,” Bielsa said. “It’s different when a player wants to leave.

‘Then it’s no use keeping him. Having more players for the same needs reduces the need for players. “

What do Leeds fans think of Bielsa’s comments on Roberts?

While Bielsa wants Roberts to stay, he also says that if the striker – signed for £ 4 million (Mail) during Paul Heckingbottom’s reign – can go if he wants to.

Should Robert want to go? Well, he’s probably the club’s fourth-choice striker now – behind Bamford, Gelhardt and Rodrigo at the top.

In the 10-role, Rodrigo is also in the lead – just like Raphinha and Mateusz Klich. Roberts really needs to consider a move in the January window.

Leeds fans have responded on Twitter to Bielsa’s comments. Many believe that for the sake of his career he has to consider a loan to move away.

Others take Bielsa’s side, due to lack of depth.
