Zachary Vozzella is charged with murder and assault in connection with the death of Brianna Welsh.
A 26-year-old man is charged in the death of a 25-year-old Lynn woman who was allegedly found stabbed to death in her home Wednesday morning.
Zachary Vozzella, also a Lynn resident, is accused of murdering Brianna Welsh, according to the Essex County District Attorney’s Office. Vozzella is charged with murder and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. He is to be arraigned in Lynn District Court on Thursday.
Lynn police officers found Welsh dead in her Lynnway home yesterday morning after her mother requested a wellness check, the DA’s office said in a news release. Prosecutors said Welsh had several apparent stab wounds.
Vozzella was arrested after an “intensive investigation” by Lynn police and Massachusetts State Police detectives assigned to the DA’s office, according to the release.
It was not immediately clear if Vozzella had an attorney available to comment on the allegations. Essex District Attorney Paul Tucker said his office will release more information after Vozzella’s indictment.
