Community service projects inspired by World Cleanup Day
HOUSTON, September 20, 2021 / PRNewswire / – LyondellBasell (NYSE: LYB) volunteers around the world took action as part of their commitment to sustainability under 22nd annual Global Care Day, a company-wide service day for employees and their families. On September 18, which was also World Cleanup Day, helped LyondellBasell volunteers improve flood management and water quality, clean plastic waste and debris, plant trees and gardens, and educate school-age children about sustainability.

Cincinnati, Ohio Helps to improve the management of flood relief and water quality within primary and tributary canals Mill Creek in Greater Cincinnati as part of Mill Creek Cleanup.
Lake Charles, Louisiana Works with Lake Charles City to replant trees along a hiking trail that was damaged or removed in 2020 during Hurricanes Laura and Delta.
Pune, India Cleaning plastic waste with the Swachh Pune -Swachh Bharat group around the Mula -Mutha river that accumulated after the monsoon in July.
Suzhou, China Join a community cleanup of Yangcheng Lake Park and educate children who helped with the effort on garbage classification.
Since 2018, LyondellBasell employees have spent more than 43,000 hours enriching their communities during Global Care Day. LyondellBasell employee Denise de Hek, who works at the company’s Moerdijk facility in Netherlands, has participated in community service projects for Global Care Day for more than five years and said she feels empowered to do good in her community because the company prioritizes giving back.
