It was a 27-year-old man shot to death on a Bronx street early Thursday, police said.
The gunman walked over Sheridan Ave. and opened fire near Marcy Place around 1:10 a.m. Thursday, striking Muhamadou Gumaneh in front of an apartment building, police said.
Gumaneh, who was shot multiple times in the body, was taken by medics to Lincoln Hospital but could not be saved, police said.
The killer got away.
Police found six shell casings at the scene, police said.
The victim was about two miles from home when he was killed, according to police.
The murder was the fourth in 44th district this year. Until August 11 last year, there had been no murders in the area.
