The Dracut Police and Fire Departments are offering up to $5,000 for additional information about a man who used fireworks to set fire to a porta potty at Veteran’s Memorial Park on Aug. 18.
At 8:45 p.m., the Dracut Fire Department was called to respond to a fire in the park at 80 Broadway Road, police said.
Upon arrival, authorities said they saw a porta potty on fire — the only handicap accessible one in the park.
Officials said video surveillance showed a man setting off fireworks inside the porta potty before the call to the department was made.
Authorities are working to identify the man in the video who left the scene in a silver Toyota Corolla with New Hampshire plates.
The money would be awarded through the Arson Watch Reward program, which pays people who provide information to “prevent or detect an arson.” according to the program’s website.
