An unidentified man was fatally wounded Tuesday night in an exchange of gunfire that left another man in critical condition on the Lower West Side, Chicago police said.
Just before 10:30 p.m., the occupants of a red sedan and a dark-colored SUV got out of their vehicles and an exchange of gunfire ensued in the 1200 block of South Union Avenue, police said.
An unidentified man suffered a gunshot wound to the face and was taken to Strogers Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. A second victim, 19, was dropped off at Rush University Medical Center and later transferred to Stroger Hospital in critical condition with a gunshot wound to the chest, police said.
