A man was punched in the face by a stranger who taunted him with anti-Muslim slurs on a Midtown Manhattan street, police said Tuesday.
The 25-year-old victim was talking on his cell phone while standing in front of an office building on Fifth Ave near 53rd St. when he was attacked at around 8.45pm on Monday.
After being struck, he was taken by medics to NYU Langone Health in stable condition.
His attacker ran away and has not been caught. The NYPD released surveillance footage of the suspect on Tuesday and asked for the public’s help in identifying and tracking him down.
The bearded suspect is described as about 25, 5-foot-7 and 160 pounds. He was wearing a gray hat, black T-shirt, brown shorts and black sneakers.
The NYPD Hate Crime Task Force is investigating.
