You voted, America, and the results are in. This morning, “CBS Mornings” revealed the top three finalists of our “Mixtape music competition.” Each delivered stellar performances of “I Can See Clearly Now,” earning their spot in the final round.
These finalists now have the chance to join our “Mixtape Moments” series and a new national marketing campaign. You will get to see them perform and learn more about their stories.
Talented musicians and singers across the country submitted their covers of Johnny Nash’s classic song “I Can See Clearly Now” to “CBS Morning’s” Mixtape Music Competition. Hundreds of entries were received, with styles as diverse as soul, rock, country and more. Out of all these entries, only 14 semi-finalists were selected.
Now these 14 have been whittled down to just three finalists.
These finalists now have the chance to join our “Mixtape Moments” series and a new national marketing campaign. You will get to see them perform and learn more about their stories.
The winner will get to record their version of the song and be featured on “CBS Mornings.” Their cover may even become the anthem for our show’s new national advertising campaign. Tune in on September 3rd to find out who will be named the winner of our “Mixtape Music Competition.”

Nashville, TN
This pop singer and songwriter started performing as a teenager in an after school music program. Dylan says his cover, in its live-looping style, embodies the joyous feeling of new beginnings.
Kindle Wylde
Nashville, TN
Frontwoman Kyndle began singing in her family’s church worship band. She and her songwriter husband moved to Nashville to pursue their dreams.
