Despite several controversies, Oscar winner Woody Allen remains one of the most prolific directors working today. While actors and actresses — including Emma Stone, Selena Gomezand Timothée Chalamet — who has chosen to work with Allen, 88, after numerous sexual abuse allegations have drawn much backlash, his ex-wife, Mia Farrowhas revealed how she feels about their choices.
In an interview on CBS Sunday morningwhich aired Sunday, Sept. 1, Mia, 79, says she can separate Allen’s art from his actions and holds no ill will toward actors who choose to work with him.
“I completely understand if an actor decides to work with him,” she said. “I’m not one to say, ‘Oh, they shouldn’t.’ “
Mia and Allen were in a relationship from 1980 to 1992, during which time Mia starred in 13 of his films. After their split, Allen began dating and later married Farrow’s adopted daughter Soon-Yi Previn. Another of Mia’s daughters, Dylan, accused Allen of using her when she was 7 years old. Allegations against Allen came to light in the early 90s, when Allen and Mia were in a custody battle over Dylan and sons Moses and Ronan Farrow. Allen was never formally charged.
In recent years, several of Allen’s former collaborators have expressed regret for working with the director, including Stone, Drew Barrymore, Colin Firth and Greta Gerwig.

“It’s the biggest regret of my life, that I wasn’t paying enough attention. It’s my fault,” Mia said in the docu-series. “I brought this guy into my family. There’s nothing I can do to take that away.”
