Looks like there’s another project going on about the life of the legendary Mike Tyson. However, this time it will be through a biopic series that will air in Hulu and star someone other than Travent Rhodes.
According to Deadline, Production for this series is set for later this year and the report will feature eight parts. In summary, the series will “explore the wild, tragic and controversial life and career of former world champion Tyson.”
In February, Tyson called Hulu after announcing the series and said, “Unfortunately, Hulu’s announcement to make an unapproved mini-series of Tyson’s story without compensation is not surprising.” He began calling the streaming service “for cultural abuse” and called their initial announcement “tone-deaf.”
As many of you know, this is another project starring Mike Tyson Jamie Foxx Done. In March, Tyson made it clear that the project with Jamie was approved.
Craig Rvich and Hulu Original, presidents of ABC Entertainment, spoke about their upcoming series and said, “Biographical films are a favorite of fans and are the mainstay of the movie and television business and often do not involve topics. We have a technique of taking a modern lens and applying it to the stories and images of popular cultures of the past. We’ve had a lot of success doing that and I think it reveals interesting things, not just where we were but where we were so we look forward to continuing the creative conversation behind Iron Mike. “
Travant Rhodes starred in the Academy Award-winning film “Moonlight,” Netflix’s “Bird Box”, and most recently Hulur’s USA vs. Billy Holiday.”
