Erling Haaland is wanted by all major European clubs this summer
The Norwegian international has cemented his reputation as the most prolific young striker in Europe since being turned down Manchester United In January of last year he joined Borussia Dortmund from RB Salzburg.
With Dortmund struggling to qualify for the Champions League next season, the vast majority of the continent’s top clubs revolve around intent, but Raiola hinted that the Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona represent the 20-year-old’s preference.
Real president Florentino, Real’s president, claimed last week that the collapse of the European League was a big blow to the Spanish champions’ hopes of signing Haaland, but Raiola believes they are still showing off the finances to secure a deal.
Barcelona is also known to be in dire financial shape, but with Lionel Messi declaring that he defended Haaland’s signature, Raiola believes that the Catalan giants will also be hard for his client to turn down.
He told AS: “Today, Dortmund’s official position is this. But I have another point of view, I think if a good opportunity arises and everyone is happy, we will put it on the table.
Haaland is interested in two things. Scoring goals, because he’s a bit like Cristiano or Zlatan … it’s his obsession in a positive way.
And winning titles. No doubt he’s going to choose a place where he feels these two go better for him.
It’s really hard to lie. When a team like Barcelona or Real Madrid comes for you, has so much history and being a big club, it’s hard to say no.
“Paris Saint-Germain joins their group of big clubs, City tries, Juventus has always been there. The league they play in is also important. Paris Saint-Germain play in the worst league for big clubs.
Bayern are in an attractive league, but we know they always win it. In Spain there are three clubs that stand a chance.
I don’t know if Real Madrid can afford it, because I haven’t studied their books. But I think they can. I think they can all.
