FREMONT – A motorcyclist was killed in a collision Thursday night in Fremont, police said.
The two-car crash happened around 7:10 p.m. at the intersection of Mowry Avenue and Crosspointe Common, the Fremont Police Department said in a news release.
The motorcyclist was traveling westbound on Mowry Avenue and collided with the front of a passenger vehicle making a left turn from eastbound Mowry Avenue onto Crosspointe Common, police said, citing an initial investigation.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. Police were unable to identify the motorcyclist.
The death marked the eighth traffic accident of the year on the city’s streets.
The driver of the car stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
The cause of the crash is under investigation, but police said alcohol and drugs do not appear to be a factor.
