FREMONT – A motorcyclist was killed in a crash Wednesday in Fremont, police said.
The two-vehicle collision occurred around 5:50 p.m. at a controlled intersection in the 43000 block of Osgood Road, the Fremont Police Department said in a news release.
An initial investigation revealed the motorcyclist was traveling southbound and struck the front of a passenger vehicle that was making a left turn from the northbound direction, police said.
The motorcyclist died of his injuries at the scene. Police did not release their identities.
The driver of the car stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
The cause of the crash is under investigation, but police said alcohol and drugs do not appear to be a factor.
The death marked the sixth traffic fatality of the year on the city’s streets.
