A 57-year-old woman was killed when she was shot in the face at an apartment building in lower Manhattan on Monday night.
The woman was found dead in the eighth-floor hallway of the Two Bridges building at 44 Market St. shortly after 11 p.m., police said.
Two suspects fled the building after the fatal shooting, according to police.
The pair were still at large as of early Tuesday.
The victim’s identity was withheld by the NYPD as authorities worked to notify family members.
The 12-story building where she was killed has 16 apartments with balconies and views of the Manhattan Bridge.
The building also has a preschool and commercial premises on the ground level.
A two-bedroom, two-bath unit with three balconies currently for sale is asking $1.38 million, according to online listings.
The investigation is ongoing.
