The NYPD is searching for a hate-mongering suspect who spewed anti-Semitic comments at a 65-year-old man and spat in the victim’s face on the Upper East Side last month.
The suspect approached the man around 4:10 p.m. on July 27 near 5th Avenue and East 68th Street and directed the hateful comments at him, police said Tuesday.
The unidentified person also pulled down the victim’s face mask and spat in his face before fleeing toward Madison Avenue on foot, authorities said.
The NYPD is investigating the incident as a hate crime.
Footage of the suspect released by authorities shows a man walking down the sidewalk wearing a black hat and sunglasses. He also carried a pair of bags while two water bottles dangled around his neck.
He was wearing black pants and a multi-colored shirt at the time of the crime.
Anyone with information about the incident or suspects can call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA.
