Police released surveillance footage Saturday of a man and woman who punched a firefighter while he was on duty in Little Italy earlier this month.
Police said the couple approached the firefighter off Hester St. 197, near Mulberry St., and began arguing with him around 11:30 p.m. on Friday, September 20. Tensions escalated and the couple punched the firefighter, according to police. His injuries were minor but the couple fled the scene. It is unclear which direction they went.

Surveillance images of the attackers show a woman dressed in gray and wearing a blue denim jacket. The man in the photos is wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt patterned with colorful flowers and denim shorts.
