The armed civilians who helped take out two terrorists who killed at least seven people in Tel Aviv on Tuesday has been identified as a survivor of the Nova Music Festival in southern Israel on October 7, according to reports.
Lev Kreitman, an Israel Defense Forces reservist, sprang into action, along with authorities, during the deadly shooting that rocked the bustling city of Israel, reported the Forward.
Kreitman, who runs Israel’s own version of the Burning Man festival called Midburn, told an Israeli news program that he was sitting nearby with a drink when he heard gunfire, according to the excerpt.
Because of his status in the IDF, he carried a gun and ran toward danger.
Both gunmen were killed in the shootout, which took place shortly before Iran began launching missiles at the Jewish state.
The two terrorists got off the train and immediately shot at people on the platform. Along with the seven victims killed, at least nine more people were injured, the police said.
Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich said the attackers came from the West Bank city of Hebron.
Kreitman’s heroics came after he survived the Nova festival when Hamas terrorists arrived at the event and killed and kidnapped Israelis on October 7, 2023. He also fought in Gaza for the past year, the Forward reported.
Footage circulating on WhatsApp shows Kreitman, who has long hair in a bun, firing his gun. Other clips online show him walking behind uniformed IDF soldiers at the site, according to the news agency.
Kreitman made headlines earlier this year when he brought a wooden sign bearing the names of five Midburn community members killed either at the Nova festival or fighting Hezbollah to Burning Man in Nevada’s Black Rock City.
