“At this point, we’re still very, very early in the investigation,” said Boston Police Deputy Chief Paul McLaughlin.
Two people were shot, one fatally, in Dorchester Monday night, police said.
The incident happened at 5 Trent Street around 6:36 p.m., said Boston Assistant Superintendent Paul McLaughlin.
When police arrived at the scene, they found two men suffering from gunshot wounds.
McLaughlin confirmed that both victims were transported to a hospital. One of the victims was pronounced dead; his identity has not been released. The second victim has what McLaughlin called “non-fatal gunshot wounds.”
An investigation into the incident is ongoing, McLaughlin said.
“At this point, we’re still very, very early in the investigation,” McLaughlin said. He said BPD is canvassing the area for video footage of the incident or witnesses. “We’re looking for any help from anyone in the neighborhood who was out and saw something,” he said.
There are no suspects or arrests at this time.
