The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a shooting that killed one person in Coachella early Monday morning.
Sgt. Wenndy Brito-Gonzalez said deputies were dispatched to the 85-000 block of Valley Road at 5:27 a.m. for a shooting. The person who reported the shooting told police he had seen what appeared to be bullet strikes at the home and car when he got there, she said.
Deputies located the victim inside the home and provided medical aid until paramedics arrived, but the victim was later pronounced dead at the scene.
