It was an uplifting visit.
The hosting service behind official website for Oyster Bay, Long Islandwas hacked over the weekend, redirecting visitors curious about the city to an online store selling Viagra alternatives.
“Cheap place to buy viagra” is what those searching the internet for the town of Oyster Bay looked like.
Visitors had a field day with the snafu.
“I know oysters are an aphrodisiac, but this is ridiculous,” commented one Reddit user.
“It’s about the only cheap thing in Oyster Bay,” said another.
“Your tax dollars at work ladies and gentlemen,” another person commented.
A spokesperson for the city told The Post of their website’s domain provider, Flywheelwas hacked, not Oyster Bay’s website, which was back to normal Monday.
“It wasn’t an internal problem with [our security]said Oyster Bay spokesman Brian Nevin.
“There was no breach of our system or our server or website at all,” Nevin added.
Flywheel did not respond to The Post’s repeated requests for comment.
