A car struck and killed a 57-year-old pedestrian in Brockton Tuesday night, the Plymouth County District Attorney said in a statement.
The victim was Domingos Gomes of New Bedford, the DA said.
Police received reports of a pedestrian collision at the intersection of North Quincy and Hovenden Street around 8:40 p.m. Tuesday, the statement said. Authorities transported Gomes to Brockton Hospital, where he died from his injuries, the DA said.
The statement said the driver of the car that allegedly hit Gomes stopped at the scene and was the one who called 911.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing, the DA said.
