The crash happened on Turnpike Street in Stoughton early Wednesday morning.
A Pennsylvania man died in a crash in Stoughton early Wednesday morning, while a Quincy woman and another man were hospitalized.
Stoughton police and fire personnel responded to the crash at approximately 6:15 a.m. They learned that a black Cadillac and a Toyota Highlander had crashed near 1463 Turnpike St.
Two Pennsylvania men were riding in the Cadillac, while the Quincy woman was driving the Toyota, officials said. All three people involved were taken to Boston Medical Center.
The driver of the Cadillac, 59-year-old Pennsylvania resident Michael Unman, was pronounced dead at the hospital. His passenger, who could not be identified, suffered serious injuries.
The Quincy woman regained consciousness later Wednesday and has been communicating with medical personnel. She was returning home from a night shift at a local hotel when the crash occurred, police said. She was also not publicly identified.
No charges have been filed, but an investigation is ongoing involving Stoughton police and state troopers.
Both cars were towed to a secure facility. One of the vehicles damaged a telephone pole which brought wires down into the road. A portion of Turnpike Street remained closed as of 1 p.m. Wednesday.
