Barely two weeks into the new school year, Amador Valley High School’s principal is on indefinite leave, according to school officials.
The Pleasanton Valley Unified School District said there is no return date for the high school’s principal, Jonathan Fey, but former district leaders will provide additional support in the interim, including former Pleasanton Middle School principal John Whitney.
“His role is not interim principal, he’s just providing additional administrative support because we don’t have a return date for Fey,” the district’s director of communications, Patrick Gannon, said Friday.
Gannon declined to comment on the reason for Fey’s leave, noting that the district could not share information about an employee’s leave.
