ALLENTOWN, PA. (CBS) — A 23-year-old man was arrested Friday morning in connection with a car accident that sent a person to hospital outside an Allentown day care home. Allentown police said Sedan Williams was charged with aggravated assault and reckless endangerment.
The fire, which was ignited near the Leaders of Our Future Learning Center on the 800 block of North 12th Street just before 9 a.m. in Allentown, sent the children home as first responders suppressed any signs of chaos on Friday.

Staff at the Leaders of Our Future Learning Center declined to comment, but people nearby find the proximity alarming.
“Innocent children, of course, it worries me that we don’t know how to take care of our neighborhood and how to stop the madness,” one resident said.
Police said a man was shot once but his injuries were not life-threatening.
Eyewitnesses recalled a red SUV with several people in it pulling up to the man as he stood in front of the nursery. They say there is no shouting before you hear the gunshot.

Police said their investigations discovered it was a road rage incident and led to Williams’ arrest.
“We saw the gentlemen present immediately grasping his arm and chest area, and it was pretty quick to assume something was up,” said one eyewitness, “but it’s pretty shocking to have anything in front of a nursery.”
“No parent wants the call that their child is hit by a bullet, especially when you drop them off at daycare,” one assistant said. “You just assume it’s going to be an easy Friday, grab them and then go home for the weekend. It could have been much worse.”
Eyewitness Haber reported that no one was injured in the nursery.
