DENVER (AP) – Mikko Rentanen scored a 2:07 power-play goal in overtime. Philippe Grubauer Vezina Trophy finalists Marc-André Fleury and the Colorado Avalanche defeated the Vegas Golden Knights 3–2 to take a 2–0 lead in their second-round playoff series.
Rantenon took a cross-ice pass from Nathan McKinnon and sent a liner over Fleury’s glove.
The goal came after Reilly Smith was called to slash Rantenon.
Brandon Saad and Tyson Jost also scored for the Avalanche, who have now won six in a row to start the season after, tying the franchise mark set in 1987 when the team was in Quebec.
Grubauer had 39 saves. Alec Martinez and Reilly Smith scored for the Golden Knights.
