Reba McEntire got the cat-stopped-in-a-tree treatment from a firefighter in Oklahoma — except that the trunk she climbed was actually a rather antique building with a built-in staircase.
The country singer was one of seven people rescued Tuesday by authorities in Atoka, OK. Reba and a colleague were at a historic site – the building is at least 100 years old – when it collapsed inside.
Emergency Management Director Travis Mullins tells us … the building was in the middle of renovation when this happened – the fallen stairs were already planned to be replaced. No word on why anyone was actually admitted when that was the case.
Anyway, Reba and Co. were, thankfully, just on the second floor when the stairs collapsed … let them hang there, and require an old-fashioned ladder rescue. Video of the incident shows that firefighters are safe and others are looking out the window.
Reba et co. were mostly okay … one person was transported to the hospital with minor injuries. After the fact, officials said that not only the 2.
Of course, this could have been a lot worse than it turned out … especially for Reba. In fact, she is a survivor.
