The 24-year-old slugger has been out since April.
Red Sox slugger Triston Casas is expected to be activated from the injured list on Friday, according to MassLive’s Chris Cotillo.
Casas has been out since April 21 with broken cartilage in the chest. He has spent the past few weeks on a rehab assignment with Triple-A Worcester.
He hit .270 in 10 rehab games with seven extra-base hits, according to Alex Speier of Boston Globe.
The 24-year-old first baseman is hitting .244 with a .344 on-base percentage and an .857 OPS this season to go with 6 home runs and 10 RBI in 22 games.
Last season he hit 24 home runs and totaled 65 RBI while hitting .263.
Speier asked Casas on Tuesday what it would take for him to be convinced he was ready before his rehab stint ends Sunday.
“Ideally, no pain,” Casas told Speer. “That’s what I’ve been waiting for — not to be in pain. I haven’t played at [the major league] level with this amount of discomfort. That’s good, and if it’s something that I’m going to have to play with for the rest of this year, that’s good too.
The Red Sox, who have lost six of their last eight games, will face the Orioles in Baltimore on Friday night.
