Reese Witherspoon is having a major relationship with private equity financier Oliver Haarmann, a year and a half after announcing her divorce from talent agent Jim Toth.
The “Big Little Lies” star, 48, and German co-founder of Searchlight Capital PartnersA “casual” relationship was confirmed to People by multiple insiders, after they were spotted together in New York City on Wednesday.
“They are friends and it’s only temporary,” one of the sources said.

This week Witherspoon and Haarmann, a minority owner of the New York Islanders, attended an opening event for Assouline in the city. The pair have been linked since at least late July, when they arrived in New York via helicopter on July 29 and dined at the West Village’s L’Artusi on July 30.
A source tells People that Witherspoon’s career and youngest son, Tennessee, 11, “are her biggest priorities” and that she’s “taking things slow when it comes to dating.” Another insider told the outlet that Witherspoon and Haarman are “friends.”
In March 2023, the “Legally Blonde” star announced that she and Tennessee’s father, 54-year-old Toth, had “made the difficult decision to separate.”
A joint statement on Instagram said: “We have had so many wonderful years together and move forward with deep love, kindness and mutual respect for all we have created together.”
Witherspoon — who also shares daughter Ava, 24, and son Deacon, 20, with her ex-husband Ryan Philippe – married CAA hotshot Toth in 2011.
