Presidential candidate Robert Kennedy Jr. raised more issues in legal battle over his residency by claiming in a fundraising appeal that he “owns a home” in New York.
“Think about it: What do you call someone who owns a home in New York, is registered to vote there, and pays state taxes? A New York resident!” email pitch Kennedy-Nicole Shanahan campaign mailing to supporters said.
The call blasted the Democratic National Committee for trying to knock him out of the race by challenging his official residence.
The Post already reported in May that independent candidate claimed his voting address at 84 Croton Lake Road in Katonah, a property that was in foreclosure proceedings for nonpayment, according to court records.
The legal owner of the property is Barbara Moss, wife of longtime RFK friend Timothy Haydock, a Westchester physician.
Neighbors said they had never seen Kennedy, but the candidate insisted it is his official residence.
He did not claim to currently own a home in New York.
Before announcing his candidacy for president, Kennedy spent most of his time at his home in Los Angeles where he lives with his actress wife Cheryl Hines, who starred in HBO’s “Curb Your Enthusiasm.”
RFK was in Albany court last week to fight a lawsuit alleging that he falsely claimed to live in New York.
The suit was brought by Clear Choice PAC, a super PAC aligned with the Democratic ticket, which is now led by Vice President Kamala Harris after President Joe Biden announced he would not seek re-election.
Kennedy is trying to achieve electoral status in as many states as possible to get a third-party candidacy.
Judge Christina Ryba is expected to announce a ruling in the residence spat this week.
The Kennedy campaign had no immediate comment.
