When asked if there was a situation that the Anfield club needed to resolve immediately, Ferdinand told BT Sport: “Absolutely. They need him to score, he’s always that guy.”
He said on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football: Liverpool They didn’t spend big this summer like other teams, they had many players sign new contracts. The person who hasn’t signed yet is Mo Salah.
“Now, he obviously wants a few pounds. And rightfully so. Good luck to him. He deserves it. He deserves to be one of the highest-paid players in the Premier League for what he’s done since coming to Liverpool. He really is.
“He never gets injured and is top scorer every year. He just is. He is.

“He’s very important and sometimes I feel bad for Mo Salah because I think he’s been overlooked for Liverpool.
“When people talk about Liverpool winning the league, they always come back to Liverpool who signed Alisson and Virgil Van Dijk. Mo Salah arrived six months ago. [Van Dijk].
“They’re the three of them, but everybody says it’s the goalkeeper and the defender that brought Liverpool to this level. Mo Salah is a big part of that.”
