Getting fired is never fun, and when you’re a major media personality who Robert Griffin IIIworking for a huge network like ESPN, it’s probably even less fun because it seems like the whole world knows you lost your job.
But RG3 had the best answer to something he seemingly didn’t know was coming. On Thursday, after reports surfaced that Griffin and colleague Sam Ponder had been panned by the network due to budget cuts, Griffin added X (formerly Twitter) to share a meme about the situation.
But he didn’t share just any meme. He shared a clip from the film Fridayin which John Witherspoon’s character Pops teases his son Craig about his job problems, saying: “How [expletive] are you going to get fired on your day off?” AWESOME. 10/10 content. No notes.
The use of the meme was actually pretty elite, and fans had a field day with it.
Self loathing… ALWAYS move. 🤣
Well done. You will land on your feet bro. You are all good.👊🏻
